Compensation & Benefits Coordinator

Overview

MAX is seeking a highly engaged and experienced Compensation & Benefits Coordinator to join the Human Resources team.  This seasoned professional will administer payroll, develop and manage employee benefits programs including salary continuance, group insurance and retirement plans as well as evaluate the competitive nature of present programs through research and analysis and make recommendations for improvement where applicable. Qualified candidates will have 5-8 years of experience in payroll administration and benefits management, a college degree with an emphasis in Human Resources Management or Accounting, and the ability to effectively multi-task with attention to detail.

Role:


To develop and administer employee benefit programs including salary continuance, group insurance and retirement plans.


Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
  • Develops, implements, monitors, and administers all associate benefits and compensation.
  • Prepares proposals and presentations for new plans and revisions to current practices.
  •  Evaluates competitive nature of present programs through research, surveys and analysis of trends.
  • Acts as liaison between Credit Union and providers while resolving any administrative problems that may arise.
  • Monitors processing of associate benefit claims and counsels associates regarding benefit status.
  • Coordinates the open enrollment processes and the Health and Wellness Fair annually.
  • Reconciles monthly benefit statements, calculates payment of premiums to providers, and maintains data relative to premiums, claims, and costs.
  • Informs incumbent and former benefit participants of changes to present policies.
  • Accurately processes payroll biweekly, preparing summary reports for the Accounting Department.
  • Reviews time cards to ensure accuracy and proper record keeping in an effort to prevent violations of wage and hour laws.
  • Maintains payroll records for the prescribed timeframe. Manages payroll procedures and makes appropriate improvements or changes when deemed necessary.
  • Answers inquiries concerning payroll and enforces payroll policies.
  • Administers FMLA for all associates and ensures accuracy and consistency across the board.
  • Manages unemployment claims and tracks activity for reporting purposes.
  • Possesses solid understanding of applicable laws and regulations.
  • Coordinates associate training of benefits, time and attendance program, wellness, etc.
  • Maintains and updates HR stats monthly.
  • Ensures proper distribution of associate occurrence letters.
  • Assists with the coordination of Activity Committee meetings, MAX4Kids fundraisers and various associate events.
  • Completes all training as required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Overview

MAX is looking to fill the role of a Financial Advisor with a knowledgeable, experienced individual.  In this role, you will be providing financial advice, developing financial plans for our members, and oversee the investments of the customer. Role:


To meet client's financial needs in areas such as portfolio management, retirement planning and funding, education saving, and estate planning.


  • Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
  • Work with branches on financial education.
  • Sell products such as stocks, bonds, and mutual funds.
  • Review accounts to determine if life changes necessitate new financial strategies.
  • Use spreadsheets and market research to back up financial advice.
  • Identify and keep abreast of new market trends.
  • Recommend strategies clients can use to achieve their financial goals and objectives, including advice on debt management, cash management, insurance coverage, and investments.
  • Interview clients to determine their current income, expenses, insurance coverage, tax status, financial objectives, risk tolerance, and other information needed to develop a financial plan.
  • Provide sound financial advice to individuals.
  • Offer Member Education courses as related to investments.
  • Oversee the investments and making changes as necessary in order to help the individual or company to gain even more money.
  • Handle customer complaints and resolve problems. Services and manages client portfolios.
  • Solicits new business, helping to diversify portfolios and achieve goals. Informs and consults the client, especially about risks.
  • Receives and processes orders with the clearing firm.
  • Maintains an up to date familiarity with MAX's personal investment products portfolio. Attends the required annual BSA and Red Flag training and passes the required tests with an adequate score.

Member Service Consultant

Overview

MAX is now seeking experienced Member Service Consultants in the Montgomery and River Region area, as well as Auburn, Opelika, Troy and the East Alabama area. These skilled individuals will be responsible for assisting members and potential members with their financial needs to include servicing transactions, counseling members on product selection or use, opening new accounts, and processing consumer loans. Qualified candidates will have at least 6 months work-related experience to include sales.


Role

To assist members and potential members with their Credit Union needs; explain services, set up new accounts, respond to problems, and direct members to the appropriate people.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Opens accounts and fully explains the services and distributes the proper disclosures.
  • Assists members in establishing Jenny MAX, ATM/ Debit Card services, and Online Banking.
  • Assists members in completing appropriate documentation regarding fraud situations.
  • Maintains basic knowledge of MAX products and services, and consistently cross offers these products and services.
  • Assists members with the completion of paperwork and posts documents required for stop payment orders, direct deposits, payroll deductions, allotments, etc.
  • Assists or seeks assistance effectively for members who have concerns/problems relating to Credit Union matters.
  • Performs duties of Branch Receptionist and Member Service Representative once a month to maintain skills.
  • Handles mail/telephone requests and inquires in accordance with Credit Union policies.
  • Supports and adheres to the member service standards.
  • Completes all training as required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Experience: Six months of cumulative related experience.
  • Education: A high school education or GED.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation.

*Other Skills: Minimum of one year of public contact experience required. Effective oral and written communication skills desired. Proficient computer skills preferred.
