Business Credit Analyst

MAX seeks an experienced individual for a Business Credit Analyst position.  Qualified candidates must have a college degree in business with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance and a minimum of one year of consumer, mortgage, or business loan underwriting experience.  Previous financial institution experience a plus. Role:


To evaluate financial statements and credit files of business credit applicants to assess the creditworthiness, thereby, determining the probability of full repayment.


  • Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
  • Spreads financial statements, calculates certain ratios including measures of liquidity, leverage and cash flow, and submits the request to the appropriate approval channel.
  • Sell products such as stocks, bonds, and mutual funds.
  • Reviews business loan and residential construction loan applications and supporting financial statements to develop information sufficient to determine the borrowing capacity, capitalization and cash flow dynamics of an applicant.
  • Uses analytical software to evaluate loan requests, performing the initial analysis required to complete all data fields, interprets the results score and determines the need for further investigation or analysis.
  • Recommends approval/disapproval of business and construction loans.
  • Recommend strategies clients can use to achieve their financial goals and objectives, including advice on debt management, cash management, insurance coverage, and investments.
  • Prepares credit approval memorandum for loans in specified transaction ranges for review by appropriate loan committees.
  • Participates in the Member Business Loan Committee, presenting summary information on underwritten loans and participating in discussions on potential loans.
  • Gathers data to generate reports relative to business loan application volume, cycle time, and portfolio quality.

Role
