Firefox Web Browser Settings

Browser Settings:

1. Click the menu icon. (Menu icon looks like sheet of paper with three lines.)

2. Select "Options"

3. In the Options tab, select the "Privacy" icon. 

If the "Firefox will" drop-down option is "Never remember history," cookies will be deleted from the browser upon browser close; if you are experiencing trouble with the MFA (Multifactor authentication) cookie, you can change the option to "Remember history" so that the cookie remains between sessions.

If the "Firefox will" drop-down option is "Use custom settings for history," ensure that "Accept cookies from sites" is checked, the "Accept third-party cookies" dropdown is set to “Always”, and the "Keep until" drop-down option value is "they expire."

4. In the Options tab, select the "Content" icon/tab.

5. Deselect (OFF) the check box for "Block pop-up windows." * Or if you choose to have it checked (ON), be sure to add "https://www.myMAX.com" to the list of Allowed Sites.

Deleting the Cache: (a.k.a. Temporary Internet Files)

1. Click the menu icon. (Menu icon looks like sheet of paper with three lines.)

2. Select "Options".

3. In the Options tab, select the "Privacy" icon.

4. If the "Firefox will" option in the drop-down is "Remember history," click on the "clear your recent history" link in the dialog box. If the "Firefox will" option in the drop-down is "Never remember history," click on the "clear all current history" link in the dialog box.

5. In the "Time range to clear" drop-down option, choose "Everything".

6. In the "Details" section, expand the selection (if necessary) by clicking on the down button.

7. Ensure that "Cache" is the only option selected and click "Clear Now".

8. Close the "Options" tab.


Deleting Cookies Only:

1. Click the menu icon. (Menu icon looks like sheet of paper with three lines.)

2. Select "Options."

3. In the Options tab, select the "Privacy" icon.

4. If the "Firefox will" option in the drop-down is "Remember history," click on the "clear your recent history" link in the dialog box. If the "Firefox will" option in the drop-down is "Never remember history," click on the "clear all current history" link in the dialog box.

5. In the "Time range to clear" drop-down option, choose the date range that is most appropriate. Please note that this will delete all cookies for the user for the given timeline regardless of site.

Selecting "Today" should help clear cookies related to a user's session.
Selecting "Everything" will remove all cookies in the browser.

6. In the "Details" section, expand the selection (if necessary) by clicking on the down button.

7. Ensure that "Cookies" is the only option selected and click "Clear Now".

8. Close the "Options" tab

Google Chrome Browser Settings



 Browser Settings:

2. Click Settings.

3. Click "Advance Settings" down at the bottom of the page.

4. Click "Content Settings" under Privacy.

Cookies: 
Select the button next to "Allow local data to be set."

JavaScript: 
Select the button next to "Allow all sites to run JavaScript."

Images: 
Select the button next to "Show all images."

Pop-ups: 
Select the button next to "Allow all sites to show pop-ups." 
-OR- 
Click "Manage Exceptions" 

Add http://www.mymax.com to the list. 

Click OK.

Close the Settings tab.

Deleting Cached Files:

1. Click the menu icon (looks like sheet of paper with four lines) in the upper right-hand corner.

2. Click Settings.

3. Click Advance Settings down at the bottom of the page.

4. Click "Clear Browsing Data" under Privacy.

5. Select the following options:
Clear browsing history
Clear download history
Empty the cache
Delete cookies and other site and plug-in data.

6. Click Clear browsing data.

Deleting Cookies only:

1. Click the menu icon (looks like sheet of paper with four lines) in the upper right-hand corner.

2. Click Settings.

3. Click "Advance Settings" down at the bottom of the page.

4. Click "Clear Browsing Data" under Privacy.

5. Select "Cookies and other site and plug-in data."

Google Chrome Android Settings


We strongly recommend using our mobile applications for accessing online banking, go here to download the app. However, below are instructions for setting the proper options in order to use online banking successfully.

 Preferences:

1. Open Google Chrome in your Android device.

2. Select the Menu button on your smartphone.

3. Select "Settings" and then select "Site Settings."

4. Make sure Cookies Allowed and Javacript Allowed is selected. 

5. Make sure that Pop Ups are switched from Block to Allow.


Deleting the Cache: (a.k.a. Temporary Internet Files)

1. Open Google Chrome in your Android device. 

2. Select (Advanced) Privacy.

3. Select "Clear browsing data."

4. Make sure the Cache checkbox is selected, and deselect the rest.

5. Click Clear


Safari Web Browser Settings



Preferences:

1. From the menu bar, click/select the Safari menu. 

2. From the Safari menu, select "Preferences..."

3. In the Preferences window, click the "Security" icon/tab. 

Click (ON) the checkbox for: "Allow plug-ins"
Click (ON) the checkbox for "Enable JavaScript"
Deselect (OFF) the checkbox for Block pop-up windows
Click “Plug-in Settings…”
Click (ON) the checkbox for "Enable Java"
Click Done

4. In the Preferences window, click the "Privacy" icon/tab. 

5. In the "Cookies and website data" section, select the "Always allow" radio button.

6. In the Preferences window, click the "AutoFill" icon/tab.

7. Deselect (OFF) the checkbox for "User names and passwords".

8. Close the Preferences window


Deleting the Cache: (a.k.a. Temporary Internet Files)

1. From the menu bar, click/select the Safari menu. 

2. From the Safari menu, select "Clear History..."

3. In the window, select how far back to clear in the “Clear” drop-down.

4. Click the "Clear History" button.

Block pop-up windows:
* It is recommended that "Block pop-up windows" be turned OFF because Internet Banking utilizes pop-up windows (e.g. Printer Friendly window, etc.).
NOTE: Block pop-up windows can also be turned on/off from the Safari menu.



Internet Explorer 11.0 Browser Settings


NOTE: If you are on a computer that uses Windows 8 or Windows 8.1, you will need to open Internet Explorer on the desktop. Follow the steps below and then restart your computer for the changes to take effect in the desktop and Modern/Metro versions of Internet Explorer.

 Cookies:

1. Click TOOLS.

2. Select INTERNET OPTIONS.

3. Click the PRIVACY tab.

4. Click the button "Advanced".

1. Put a check mark next to "Override Automatic Cookie Handling". (This option has been removed in later versions of Internet Explorer 11.)

2. Select ACCEPT for "First-Party Cookies" and "Third Party Cookies".

3. Put a check mark next to "Always Allow Session Cookies".


Security:

1. Click TOOLS.

2. Select INTERNET OPTIONS.

3. Click the SECURITY tab.

4. Set the Security Level for the Internet Zone to MEDIUM. (if slider bar is not available, Click the button "Default Level").

5. Click the button "Custom Level".

6. Under Scripting of Java Applets, make sure the radio button is set to ENABLE.

7. Under File Download, make sure the radio button is set to ENABLE.

8. (for XP only) Under Automatic prompting for file downloads, make sure the radio button is set to ENABLE.

9. Click OK button.

10. Click the PRIVACY tab.

11. Set the Privacy Setting to MEDIUM. (This option has been removed in later versions of Internet Explorer 11)

12. Click the button "Advanced".

13. Put a check mark next to "Override Automatic Cookie Handling".(This option has been removed in later versions of Internet Explorer 11)

14. Under First-party Cookies make sure the radio button is set to ACCEPT.

15. Under Third-party Cookies make sure the radio button is set to ACCEPT.

16. Put a check mark next to "Always Allow Session Cookies".

17. Click OK button.

18. Click the ADVANCED tab.

19. Under Security make sure the checkbox for "Do not save encrypted pages to disk" is blank.

20. Under the Security Section, make sure that "Use SSL 2.0" and "Use SSL 3.0" are not checked. These two protocols have been deprecated and are no longer considered secure.

21. (for Windows 2000 and XP SP1 only) Under the Microsoft VM section, put a check mark next to "JIT compiler for virtual machine enabled (requires restart)".

22. Click OK until exited completely from options.

Deleting All Temporary Internet Files:

1. Click TOOLS.

2. Select INTERNET OPTIONS.

3. Click the GENERAL tab.

4. Under Browsing History, click the 'Delete...' button.

5. In the Delete Browsing History popup window, put a check mark next to Temporary Internet Files. User may decide whether to put a check mark in all other boxes in this window.

6. Click the 'Delete' button at bottom of popup window.

7. Click OK until exited completely from options.

Deleting Cookies Only:

1. Click TOOLS.

2. Select INTERNET OPTIONS.

3. Click the GENERAL tab.

4. Under Browsing History, click the 'Delete...' button.

5. In the Delete Browsing History popup window, check the box for Cookies. Deselect all other boxes in this window, with possible exception of 'Preserve Favorites website data'.

Internet Explorer 10.0 Browser Settings

To access the menu bar while using Internet Explorer 10.0, tap the Alt key. 

Cookies:

Microsoft Edge Browser Settings


NOTE: Microsoft Edge is only available for Windows 10 and replaces Internet Explorer as the default browser. If after following the instructions below you are still experiencing issues, click the menu icon (a dark box with three horizontal white circles through the middle) and click open in Internet Explorer. Once Internet Explorer is open, follow the instructions on the Internet Explorer 11.0 Browser Settings page.

Cookies

1. Click the menu icon (a dark box with three horizontal white circles through the middle) in the upper right corner of the window. 

2. Click SETTINGS.

3. Scroll down and click ADVANCED SETTINGS.

4. Scroll down until you see a drop-down labeled COOKIES.

5. Set to “Don’t Block Cookies”. 

Deleting All Temporary Internet Files

1. Click the menu icon (a dark box with three horizontal white circles through the middle) in the upper right corner of the window.

2. Click SETTINGS. 

3. Click CHOOSE WHAT TO CLEAR under the CLEAR BROWSING DATA heading. 

4. Make sure that CACHED DATA AND FILES is checked. 

5. Click CLEAR. 


Deleting Cookies only

1. Click the menu icon (a dark box with three horizontal white circles through the middle) in the upper right corner of the window.

2. Click SETTINGS.

3. Click CHOOSE WHAT TO CLEAR under the CLEAR BROWSING DATA heading. 

4. Make sure that only COOKIES AND SAVED WEBSITE DATA is checked.

5. Click CLEAR.



How To Enable TLS Encryption on Internet Explorer


 
Enhanced Security Measures for MAX Online Banking
In order to access secure websites upgraded to prevent the POODLE potential vulnerability, end users must have TLS encryption enabled. End users on any browser that does not support TLS encryption will be unable to access Online Banking.

End users must enable TLS encryption in each browser they use. Depending on the configuration of the end user system, these options may need to be set for each user that logs in to the operating system.


To enable TLS in Internet Explorer 9:
1. Go to the "gear" icon at the upper right.
2. Choose "Internet Options".
3. Choose the "Advanced" tab.
4. The security section is at the bottom of the list.
5. Make sure that "Use TLS 1.0" is selected.
6. Click Apply.
7. Click OK.
8. Close all browser windows.
9. Restart the browser and retry.

If this troubleshooting step does not resolve the issue, try disabling "SSL 2.0" and "SSL 3.0" using the same process.

 
To enable TLS in Internet Explorer 10 or Internet Explorer 11:
1. On the Tools menu, tap or click Internet options. If you don't see the Tools menu, press Alt.
2. Choose "Internet Options".
3. Choose the "Advanced" tab.
4. The security section is at the bottom of the list.
5. Make sure that "Use TLS 1.0" is selected.
6. Click Apply.
7. Click OK.
8. Close all browser windows. 
9. Restart the browser and retry.

If this troubleshooting step does not resolve the issue, try disabling "SSL 2.0" and "SSL 3.0" using the same process.
